Divemaster
If your love of diving interests you in making it a career, take the first step and become a PADI Divemaster. Designed to develop your leadership abilities to a professional level. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. Whether or not you're on a career path, the Divemaster course can expand your capabilities and make you a better diver.
Dive Kauai Scuba Center offers the Divemaster course in a comprehensive program with three main phases: watermanship, knowledge development and practical application.
Our
Divemaster program is a 2-week - 50 hour internship program. You'll work closely
with your PADI Instructor(s) to expand your diving skills and knowledge to the
professional level. During this course you'll practice supervising diving and
non-diving activities and assist with student training in a variety of
environments. You will also have an in-depth opportunity to learn about boat
& compressor operations.
Upon completion, the Divemaster course qualifies you to assist PADI instructors with students in training, and you'll be qualified to conduct PADI Discover Local Diving tours off boats or from the shore, help with dive training classes and the Scuba Review programs for certified divers.
The prerequisite for the course is to be a certified PADI Rescue diver or equivalent. The minimum age is 18. You must also have 20 logged dives with experience in Night, Deep and Navigation dives. To exit the course, you must have logged at least 60 dives. The required hours for the course is 50 hours.
The cost for the basic Divemaster Internship is $495.00/ea. Price
includes your Divemaster manual, student records, scuba tanks & wts,
Twelve (12) boat or shore dives and issuing your certification card.
Divemaster Internship with Charter Operations is $695.00/ea. This
is a 2-week (or longer) program that includes the basic Internship plus lots of
diving (24 dives) with hands on experience in all facets of a charter
operation.
