Welcome to Dive Kauai Scuba Center. We are an experienced dive center located in the heart of Kapa'a. We have been open for business on Kauai since 1985. May 2001, after 16 years at the same location, Dive Kauai Scuba Center moved to its new location and permanent home. We're on the corner of Kuhio Hwy(56) and Makaha Rd, one block farther north than the old store location. We have an experienced staff on hand to assist you in any diving matter. You can skip the personal information and view the rates if you wish.
Michael Gough -
President/Operations Manager/Master Instructor/DivemasterMichael enjoys diving with his two certified daughters and in a few years diving with his grandchildren. One of his favorite divesites is Tunnels Reef because of the lava tubes and caverns he has found and the white tipped reef sharks (which he has been known to pet - and we have the video to prove it!). For Boat diving, his favorite site is Brennecke's Ledge because this is where he had a close (20 ft) encounter with a humpback whale! Evidently - it was so close, he could see the barnacles on it's fins!
When asked why he's here at Dive Kauai, his response is "I could not think of anything else I'd rather do - diving for me is the second best thing to do in the world, the first is being alive to dive again another day!"
Patrick "Pat" Quinn - PADI MSDT - Instructor Extraordinaire/Divemaster
Pat fell in love with diving in 1994 while on vacation visiting the island of
Saba doing a Discover Scuba Dive. After returning home to New Jersey decided to
get certified and seek a career as a scuba instructor. Pat says he became a
scuba instructor so he "could play for a living instead or working for a
living". Pat can teach 16 specialties. His favorite Kauai dive site is
"Koloa Landing". Visiting this dive site provides lots of diverse marine
life including frogfish, Hawaiian reef fish in addition to the resident turtles seen there.
Randy Parks - Senior Boat Captain, Diver
Captain Randy has come to Dive Kauai from the seas of the Gulf of Mexico,
Caribbean Ocean, the Atlantics and the Pacific. His experiences includes serving
in the US Coast Guard as a Marine Science Technician on a hurricane hunter,
delivering sailboats and power vessels around the globe. His scuba diving
experiences dates from his certification 1972 to further compliment his position
with us as our senior boat captain.
