Aloha E Komo Mai - Hello and welcome to DIVE KAUAI SCUBA CENTER'S Home Page
Kauai, nicknamed The Garden Island, is the oldest, fourth largest and least populated of the Hawaiian Islands. Divers visiting Kauai will discover a host of excellent dive sites along the shoreline as well as from our custom built dive boats in offshore waters. Kauai offers an interesting topography of lava ridges, pinnacles, archways, caves and caverns formed by molten lava meeting the sea. Wave action and erosion over the centuries formed coral reefs and miles of sand beaches. The warm tropical waters are teaming with marine life around the beautiful coral reefs in an array of pastel colors.
We are The Diving Kauai Companies: Dive Kauai Scuba Center, Kauai Nitrox Divers and Sunrise Scuba Adventures. Dive Kauai Scuba Center is a PADI International Dive Resort. We are a Universal Referral location, a NAUI Dream Resort and a Training Facility for TDI/SDI. We offer certification classes from Junior Open Water Diver to the new Scuba Diver rating through Instructor. We also offer the most Specialty Diver courses on the island including Enriched Air/Nitrox Diver, Overhead Environment/Cavern Diver and DPV Diver (diver propulsion vehicle).
Approximately 680 species of fish are known to exist in the Hawaiian Island chain. About 420 of those species are designated as reef and inshore fishes. A surprising 24% are endemic to Hawaii (i.e. found nowhere else in the world)! Our tour guides are eager to share the secrets of our unique tropical fish and the geology and ecology of our colorful coral reefs. Kauai's marine world is steeped in legends and myths about our sea turtles, dolphins, humpback whales and more. By visiting our Marine Life guide, you can discover more about the beautiful Hawaiian Marine life.
Visiting dive sites is always dependent upon the weather, ocean conditions and the time of year you visit. The East side has Black Coral Arch and Dragon's Head. Due to the tradewinds, the East shore of Kauai is seldom visited by divers. The West side has Mana Crack. Mana Crack is an excellent dive site located just off the West coast of Kauai from Polihale Beach-the start of the Napali coast. This area is a massive submarine ridge approximately 10 miles long resembling a sunken barrier reef with associated lagoon. The area has unique coral formations and abundant fish life. Jacks, sharks and other large fish are observed here. Like the trip to Ni'ihau, it is a weather dependent dive trip, usually taking the whole day to complete. Diving Mana Crack is supreme - pristine near-virgin waters making this dive site an awesome experience. Chartered trips available May-Sept or at other times of the year as weather and ocean conditions allow. Advance Reservations required.
Ni'ihau/Lehua Rock. Ni'ihau-The Forbidden Island and Lehua Rock- offers Advanced certified and experienced divers seeking a truly uncommon underwater experience that's world class. Niihau's pristine dive sites showcase the best of Hawaii's most remote location that's close to Kauai. The trip can take from 90 min to 2-3 hrs each way for an open ocean channel crossing of 27 miles. On the dives we view larger schools of Hawaiian Reef fish and often see sharks, turtles, monk seals, rays & whales in season. Advance Reservations required. Chartered trips available May-Sept. Visit our Dive Guide to see all of the best diving and snorkeling sites in Kauai.
